The scheme comprises of the formation of a music teaching facility within the lower ground floor of the extension to the teaching facilities at the Joseph Wright Sixth Form College for Derby College.
The scheme demanded extensive design and creativity to enable the integration of building service elements with acoustic rated performance spaces and in line with the budgetary constraints.
The fit out incorporated provision of high class teaching space and IT facilities within a specialist acoustic rated 'box in box' construction where the inner shell of the room was structurally isolated from the surrounding partition walls, floors and ceilings.
The project was completed to budget and opened its doors to students ahead of programme in October 2008.
