Scheme: New Changing Facilities Client: Saint Benedict Catholic School, Derby Value: £410,000
Services: Project Manager and Cost Consultant
The construction of new self-contained changing facilities to serve the new all weather hockey pitch and athletics facilities, as well as the existing football pitches, completing the provision of first class, prestige sports facilities for the School and also the local sports clubs.
The project was completed and handed over to the School in early April 2009 despite difficulties experienced during an exceptionally inclement winter. The project was delivered within the original contract sum and the School is now enjoying the resultant benefits from the integrated sustainable technology installations comprising a wind turbine, roof mounted photo voltaic panels and the ground source heat loop which were implemented by means of grant aid via the Low Carbon Buildings Programme - Phase 2.
Now that the all weather pitch and athletics area are also complete both the School and the local community can use the facilities as planned, providing the School with a unique opportunity to not only build relationships with the local community but also create additional revenue for re-investment in maintaining and improving the existing sports facilities.
