Michael Armsons established the practice in 1972, to offer specialist quantity surveying expertise to private and public sector clients. The range of services has expanded to respond to our clients and the industry’s changing needs and now encompasses Project Management, Construction Cost Management and Building Surveying as our core services provision.
Our business ethos is to provide professional and innovative construction consultancy services for an increasing range of clients and their projects, in both the public and private sectors and in which we seek to exceed our clients’ expectations.

Stephen Fernie joined Armsons in the role of Director in 1997. He is responsible for various schemes including educational, commercial, industrial and leisure facilities. His specialisms include funding applications, cost planning, PFI, contract procurement and project management / co-ordination.
He has overseen a number of high profile projects including the Joseph Wright Centre, Derby, Roundhouse re-development (a £50m regeneration scheme for Derby College) and various commercial / retail developments.
Sally joined Armsons in 2016 to lead the provision of Building Surveying services and became a Director in 2017. She is an experienced Building Surveyor, Project Manager and Contract Administrator with significant experience in leading project teams both in-house and with external consultants as part of multi-disciplinary teams. She is committed to providing a high level of service and developing strong working relationships with clients and contractors; understanding and developing client's requirements and business needs to ensure successful client delivery. Sally has provided Building Surveying, Project Management and Contract Administrator services to both private and public sector clients, including commercial, retail, educational and heritage.
Jonathan Heath joined Armsons in 2014 and became a Director in 2017. His career to date includes working for large principal contractors as well as consultancy roles which has given him enviable experience within the industry. Jonathan is adept at problem solving with a hands on approach and specialises in achieving best value for clients at pre and post-contract stages. Jonathan has provided Project Management, Cost Consultancy and Employer's Agent roles within sectors including commercial, retail, educational, heritage and conservation and residential.
